Examining Leadership: For programme, project and delivery managers.
This one to two day workshop is designed for managers who work in some form of a delivery capacity. Through facilitated discussions and small group exercises, participants will have the opportunity to reflect on their own perceptions about leadership:
What does it mean to be a leader?
What characteristics of leadership are necessary for successful delivery?
How do I look at myself as a leader?
What roles do I play as person in a leadership role? What roles do I ask others to play?
How do these perceptions shape my behaviour and decision making?
Participants will have the opportunity to take a step back from their day to day activities and reflect on some of the deeper leadership challenges they are facing. The workshop draws from one an executive coaching and leadership development programme taught at INSEAD. People from software and non-software related fields are encourage to participate. Participants will leave with the following:
Actions they can experiment with in their day-to-day work environment
Greater awareness of mental models that shape their decision making
An understanding of how these mental models affect interpersonal interactions
A set of lens that offer alternative perspectives about leadership
Techniques for listening more deeply to staff, colleagues and managers
